Seeking an Assistant Controller for a direct hire work opportunity headquartered in Billerica, Massachusetts. Our client is a manufacturer of premium epoxy solutions for optic and microelectronic assembly in aerospace and defense, automotive, electronics, and other industries.
Essential duties and responsibilities:
- Prepare monthly, quarterly, and yearly financial reports
- Assist Controller and President with budgeting
- Ensure all accounting practices follow legal guidelines and established accounting principles
- Assist with billing and tax documentation preparation
- Work with the company financial team to create internal controls and policies
- Support and lead the plant financial activities in the areas of accounting, costing, budget/forecast, expense control and reporting.
- Support the month-end closing process including preparation of manual Journal Entries and ensuring appropriate cost allocations.
- Prepare and support Capital Appropriation Requests including financial justification in accordance with company guidelines.
- Maintain accurate and compliant balance sheet accounts and corresponding reconciliations.
- Coordinate internal and external audit activities pertaining to the plant ledger.
- Collaborate with the Finance Department staff to achieve department and company objectives.
- Perform additional related duties and analyses as directed by the Plant Manager or Plant Controller.
Position Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance required, MBA / CPA preferred
- Expert knowledge of accounting and financial principles, regulations, and best practices
- Excellent understanding of governmental guidelines, tax laws that affect the company
- Highly organized with keen attention to detail
- Proficient with data analysis, critical thinking and problem-solving
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Collaboration and teamwork skills
- Fluent in MS Office applications, experience with MFG Pro/SAP/Hyperion applications preferred.
- Demonstrated ability to manage complex or ambiguous situations; strong supervisory management skills and ability to work under deadlines.
- Able to analyze complex data and communicate findings by verbal or presentation format.
