Dairy Technology Specialist sought for a Direct Hire opportunity in eastern South Dakota and central Minnesota. This Chemical manufacturing company has comprehensive programs in food processing, water treatment, and institutional marketplaces. This role will be 60 percent travel onsite with clients, while the rest of the work will be remote.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Build a solid understanding of products, dairy plant operations, customer business objectives, and food safety
- Work directly with the Territory Managers and Technical Support Staff to continually add value to each account’s sanitation program
- Provide dairy industry expertise to customers in terms of sanitation programs, including assisting with sanitation products and dispensing equipment, sanitation standard operating procedures, evaluating processes and procedures, troubleshooting, and employee training
- Develop strategic work plans for completing service calls with existing customers
- Communicate effectively with all levels of plant staff; build strong business relationships and networks
- On-site, at accounts, manage products and equipment; participate in equipment installations, observe and test equipment and product performance, repair or adjust equipment, adjust chemical concentration levels, monitor product inventory
- Reports Directly to the Sanitation Technologies General Sales Manager
- Approximately 80 percent of work will be in Eastern SD and Central MN
Position Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent amount of dairy plant experience
- 4 years of experience in dairy processing/manufacturing environment
- Willingness and ability to work varying hours
- Willingness and ability to travel throughout a small geographic area
- Strong understanding of clean in place (CIP) processes Valid driver's license and acceptable motor vehicle record
(Preferred)
BS/BA degree in dairy, food or agricultural science, engineering, chemistry, biology or related field
- General mechanical ability
- Bilingual – English / Spanish

- Ability to prioritize multiple projects and to adapt to changing priorities
