Seeking a Field Service Technician for a direct hire opportunity located in Mundelein, IL. Our client is a manufacturer of machines, plants as well as process lines and solutions in the food, pharmaceutical, cosmetics and chemical industries.
Essential duties and responsibilities:
- Install, commission, and provide machine start-up services for company food processing, pharmaceutical and health care equipment
- Provide hands-on machine training to customer maintenance personnel, production operators, and sanitation personnel
- Perform complete mechanical and electrical diagnostic testing, troubleshooting and repairs to existing customer equipment
- Perform inspections and routine electrical and mechanical maintenance on existing customer machines.
- Coordinate field installation and maintenance activities with millwrights, electricians, and on-site maintenance personnel
- Track and maintain accurate records of all parts and materials used for repairs or replacements
- Ensure that all service work meets the high-quality standards of the company
- Maintain a safe and clean work area while working at customer sites. Adhere to all local safety and sanitation policies and procedures when on-site at customer location
- Perform other miscellaneous field duties as needed
- Maintain and repair in-house company lab equipment.
- Assist customers with product testing and trials on company lab equipment.
- Provide technical support to new and existing customers via telephone, e-mail, text, conferencing, etc.
- Provide parts quotes, process incoming parts orders, pull parts from inventory, and work with the shipping department to ensure timely delivery of parts.
- Provide spare parts recommendations to customers.
- Source spare parts from local vendors.
- Assist with shipping and receiving activities.
- Assist with annual inventory counts
- Maintain a clean, safe work environment.
- Report any issues to Service Manager
