Seeking to hire an Inside Sales Representative in Chicago, IL (60646).
Position Summary: Generates new business and ensures growth of existing accounts. Assesses potential application of company products or services and offers solutions that meet customer needs. Researches and presents reports showing potential customers the cost benefit of purchasing company products or services. Provides technical training to clients and communicates customer feedback into future product developments. Uses technical knowledge of product offerings to support and build sales.
Duties & Responsibilities:
- Provide technical assistance to customers via telephone, fax, or email
- Bid and quote burners and parts
- Assist customer in selection and order entry for special burners and parts.
- Be knowledgeable in application of burners; combustion chambers size and firing characteristics, ventilation, mechanical and electrical knowledge, etc.
- Adhere to company costing and pricing policies
- Have ability to understand approval body, insurance company and local code requirements
- Follow up on sales leads and making cold calls on potential or existing customers
- Respond to customer technical questions
- Diagnose equipment problems
- Limited travel to jobsites for customer support in startups and troubleshooting
- Make sales contacts, research customer needs and develop application of products and services in an effective manner
- Establish long-term, ongoing repeat relationships
- Resolve problems with products and services
- Update customer database (ACT!)
- Create bills of material – Basic housing, valve train, flame safeguard, method of firing, special customer requirements
- Interface with purchasing and manufacturing in fabrication of special units
- Assist plant personnel with special burner product testing and assembly issues
Position Qualifications:
Competencies:
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
- Knowledgeable in burner applications and their components a plus
- Maintaining a working knowledge of products and services
- Well-developed sales skills
- Technical knowledge of burners or HVAC a plus
- Excellent customer relations skills
- Knowledge of MS Office (Word, Excel and Outlook)
- Knowledge of ACT! preferred
- Strong problem solving and negotiation skills
- Must be a creative thinker to overcome customer rejections
Required education and experience:
- Associates Degree or equivalent
- 2 to 4 years of related experience and/or training
- Equivalent combination of education and experience
