Seeking to hire a Logistics/Operations Specialist for a contract-to-hire opportunity in Columbus, OH. Associates will learn 3-4 positions over time to be utilized in their roles in Logistics. The different positions are comprised of Inventory Reconciliation, Inbound Material Testing, Site Clerk, and Forklift
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Supply Chain:
- Assists with the design, planning, execution, control, and monitoring of supply chain activities with the objective of creating net value, building a competitive infrastructure, leveraging worldwide logistics, synchronizing supply with demand, and measuring performance globally
Plant Operations:
- Leads and integrates the efforts of a single team or multiple teams across all shifts responsible for all quality, safety, cost, reliability, and quantity of the line or lines which make up the value stream. Responsible for sound people management, problem-solving, and project management skills
- Responsible for producing finished goods or sub-assemblies for finished goods. Can be a machine operator or a team leader who helps coordinate activities and effectiveness of a group of machine operators as they complete their shift schedules
Manufacturing:
- Production manages or assists with managing various production activities (e.g., assembly, material forming/shaping, processing, treating, or packaging, etc.) including planning, directing, and monitoring production to meet established specifications, schedules, volume/cost/wastage targets, and quality standards
- Liaising with Manufacturing Engineering, Supply & Logistics, Sales, etc. as input to developing production schedules and allocating labor/capital resources
- Planning, prioritizing and managing production line maintenance/downtime to minimize disruptions
Position Qualifications:
- Is a First Line Manager but can be second LM of a team (> 4) with Technical Leadership and some Business Operations roles
- Proficient with Excel
- Forklift experience
- Desire to learn different roles within the logistics department
- Ability to set priorities for the team to ensure task completion, and coordinate work activities with others
- Decisions and problem-solving guided by policies, procedures, and business plans, with guidance and oversight from the manager
