Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Reports to the maintenance manager.
  • Provide leadership in assuring all requirements of the routine maintenance work process are utilized consistently and effectively to continuously improve the process and ensure goals are met.
    • Managing and motivating the efficient completion of daily maintenance work orders from maintenance personnel.
    • Manage the workload distribution and personnel skill utilization.
    • Training maintenance personnel.

  • Interface daily with production and maintenance department personnel to review work orders for maintenance services.  Review and provide input on definition, accuracy, and priority.
  • Communicate with scheduling and production, maintenance work scheduled the next day, and requirements needed from production and/or scheduling.
  • Develop the scope of each work order. 
  • Procure all required material, outside contract services, rental equipment, and specialized tools to include emphasis on all the requirements of company specifications, HSE and PSM programs.
    • Management of maintenance storeroom and spare parts inventory.
    • Create & maintain repetitive job plans.
    • Utilize SAP to manage work orders, procure materials, and develop maintenance plans.

  • Ensure the PSM, and HSE procedures are followed, for in-house mechanics and contractors, during job execution.
    • Safe work, hot work, confined space, LOTO, line break, excavation, and crane permits.

  • Track area planning backlog & work orders ensuring data is current & accurate.
    • Communicate work order status and scheduling management of backlog work orders during a weekly work order review meeting to production, safety, and site management.

  • Evaluate non-resident contractor performance, including quality & safety performance.
  • Assist engineers with plant projects, technical details, & specifications. Make recommendations on projects such as timeline, labor requirements, work scope, & material. 
    • Advocate for maintenance reliability.
    • Continued development of the PM program.

  • Follow the Management of Change Process to document & implement plant PSM changes.
  • Provide planning and supervisory support for outages.
  • On a rotating on-call schedule for off-hours maintenance issues.
  • Participate in PHA, PSM, ISO reviews, near-miss reporting, and incident investigations.
