Our client is a leading producer of custom doors and frames that are distributed nationally and internationally. They pride themselves on adhering to current manufacturing standards and having a tremendous family environment. They are looking for a full-time manufacturing engineer.
The Manufacturing Engineer is responsible for running and maintaining the processes as well as seeking to continually improve the process. The process of continuous improvement requires the Manufacturing Engineer to continually find ways to improve quality and efficiency, both of which lead to a better product and reductions in the cost of producing the product.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Evaluate quality control processes and make recommendations for improvements in quality control
- Monitor and enforce the existing Quality Assurance Program
- Analyze production processes, schedules, methods, and other data and then provide management with reports containing the data and statistics to enable management to better understand future requirements needed for the manufacturing process
- Ensure that the company's manufacturing processes are in compliance with all government laws and regulations
- Review and calculate labor, material, and other production costs along with reviewing schedules and future production requirements to assist management in decision-making
- Analyze and plan workflow, equipment placement, and space requirements to improve manufacturing efficiency
- Coordinate equipment maintenance and repair services and make sure that the manufacturer's procedures and instructions are followed in order to keep production equipment operational
- Develop proficiency in all Engineering software used to create and transfer manufacturing data to the factory floor
- Fully understand all specialty product design and fabrication
- This includes a full understanding of existing labeling procedures for fire-rated product
Position Qualifications:
- Manufacturing Engineers need to have at the minimum an Associates Degree in manufacturing engineering, systems engineering, industrial engineering or mechanical
- Prior experience is of course always preferred
- Background in architectural design/blueprint reading / hollow metal frame and door structure and design would be an added plus
