Production and Material Planner:
Our client, a top-selling brand of Refrigerated Juice Drinks is seeking a Production and Material Planner who will be responsible for creating and maintaining our client's production schedules, procuring needed materials to effectively meet production requirements, and ensuring the accuracy of inventory transactions and inventory levels.
The position has three specific areas of focus: production planning, material planning, and inventory control. This role is responsible for material planning, inventory, and analyzing future sales promotions, current orders, and historical sales trends to adjust the production plan and forecasting models as needed. This role is also responsible for material requirement planning, including the creation and placement of purchase orders with assigned vendors. Inventory responsibilities for this position include monitoring the inventory for accuracy, performing inventory counts, investigating discrepancies identified and implementing corrective and preventive actions as needed. The Production and Material Planner works closely with the Production Supervisor, the batching, packaging, and warehouse operators, the customer service department, and other plant and corporate personnel as required. The position reports to the Vice President of Manufacturing.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Perform inventory counts, audit inventory and transaction reports for accuracy, and investigate any inconsistencies to identify the root cause and implement corrective and preventive actions
- Monitor and track customer orders to create and update the weekly production schedule, minimizing inventory levels and finished product/raw materials out-of-stock and obsolescence
- Use the ERP system to generate reports and analyze data to identify opportunities to improve company performance.
- Interface with manufacturing, maintenance, warehouse, Customer Service, and Quality Teams on customer order status, material status, and production planning issues to ensure accurate and timely scheduling
- Purchase various supplies and items in support of the manufacturing department
- 2-5 years of related experience in production scheduling and material planning, inventory system processing, and transportation and supplier services required; experience in food manufacturing preferred
- Knowledge in database management, analyzing and reporting data regarding inventory issues, results, trends, and solutions 2+ years preferred
- High school diploma required; Associates degree preferred
- Intermediate Microsoft Office skills including Excel, Word, and PowerPoint
- Detail-oriented with exceptional planning and organizational skills while working in a fast-paced and dynamic environment
- Must reside in the Chicagoland area or surrounding suburbs
