Our client has been in business for over 25 years and specializes in environmental rental equipment priding themselves on exceptional customer service and maintenance. They are seeking a full time Operations Manager to work in their Indianapolis branch.
- Managing 15+ shop employees/welders/technicians
- Purchasing of parts and Supplies
- Execute policies and procedures for Operations Personnel
- Ensure consistent policies and procedures are adhered to
- Implement Safety Policies and Oversee Safety Training (OSHA Certification, Confined Space Entry, EHS, etc.
- Assure compliance with OSHA, safety, quality, and sanitation standards
- Maintain inventory control practices and procedures
- Optimize the workflow in the department and drive toward better efficiency
- Ensure systems and processes are in place to maintain smooth operations during employee vacations and busy times
- Assess operational inefficiencies
- Responsible for effectively and clearly communicating essential business information to all members of the department
- Act as the department coach and facilitator in areas such as problem-solving, people management, and decision making
- Responsible for initiating hiring of shop personnel
- Ensure on-time delivery of quality rental equipment to customer job sites, and effectively communicate information to Sales and Accounting
- Periodically assess capabilities and overall consistency of work by each employee in the departments
- Perform special projects as required
- Assist shop personnel with production, delivery, repairs, etc. as needed
Position Qualifications:
- Organizational and strong mechanical aptitude
- HS Diploma
- Experience in managing people
- Promotes open and honest communication
- Engages workforce
- Facilitates performance management
- Manages employee matters in conjunction with Human Resources, as appropriate
- Good written and oral communication skills
- Demonstrate ability to be proactive, decisive, and strategic in decision making
- Working knowledge of MS Office
