Seeking a Pilot Plant Operator for a long-term opportunity in the food industry, located in Chicago, IL.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Responsible for daily operations of the pilot plant equipment under food safety compliance standards
- Follow established GMPs, SOPs, and batch record instructions
- Execute duties in full compliance with all relevant safety standards at all times.
- Operate plant equipment, ensuring quality, timeliness, and accuracy via analytical testing
- Sample collection for QC lab testing; some in-process testing may be required
- General cleaning & housekeeping
- Warehouse and shipping/receiving as needed
- Working in conjunction with maintenance services and/or vendors to ensure all equipment is serviced and maintained
- Provide general support to the Product Development team as assigned including bench-level work and fry study support
- Assist other personnel as needed, and will perform other duties essential to the department as requested by your supervisor

Position Qualifications:
- High School diploma or equivalent. Technical degree preferred.
- 3 – 5 years of plant operations experience preferred
- Forklift operation preferred
- Proven mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting
- Able to understand and implement Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP), Standardized Sanitary Operating Procedures (SSOP), and Hazard Analysis Critical Control Point (HACCP)
- Exhibits sound and accurate judgment, and include appropriate people in the decision-making process
- Identifies and resolves problems in a timely manner, works well in group problem-solving situations
- Excellent oral and written communication skills
- Must have flexibility in work schedule, including overtime and/or weekends
- Must be able to ascend and descend stairs, and ladders, as needed in the performance of the work
- May work at different workstations as production needs require, or shift from one station to another, during the production process
- Must be able to stand for 12 hours and lift 50lbs
