Seeking to hire Senior Buyer of Capital Projects for direct hire role in Malvern, PA. Our client is a leading global supplier of silicate and derivative products that serve as environmentally friendly substitutes for materials used in a variety of applications. They are known for a diverse product line that affects various products and industries.
The Senior Buyer shall perform assignments related to the procurement of equipment and contractor services for Company’s North American plants. The Buyer shall work with multiple disciplinary teams to deliver an optimized solution from a cost, quality, delivery, and risk standpoint to the manufacturing plants. The individual must be self-motivated and have strong communication skills, and the ability to work closely with others.
This role is responsible for delivering value, including year-on-year cost savings, within the capital category. This individual will forge connections across businesses, sites, capabilities, and suppliers on a portfolio of commodities to deliver superior solutions which contribute to the profitable transformation of the company.
CapEx experience is necessary for this role.
Primary activities include:
· You will support $120MM+ over 5 years in Capital procurement activities across multiple projects and sites. EHS qualification and audit, price, and contract negotiations, etc.
· You will ensure that on-site contractors are in full compliance with the Company’s EHS requirements.
· You will enforce Terms and conditions of purchase orders, and compliance with legal requirements and Company policy. Resolve supplier non-conformance issues in a timely manner to minimize the Company’s exposure.
· You will constantly strive to deliver best value for your internal customers by partnering with suppliers who are culturally aligned and who have a virtuous cycle of mutual benefit (VCMB) mindset.
· You will lead the work with cross-functional teams to find, assess, and select new suppliers which can improve value to the organization by lowering Total Cost of Ownership (TCO) and improving Return on Investment (ROI) and Return on Capital Consumed (ROCC).
· You will communicate with stakeholders and suppliers, at all levels of management, to invite, seek, and embrace feedback and challenges.
· You will become the SME for your categories.
· You will continually achieve savings through bidding, negotiations, and strategies to meet business needs.
· You will cultivate networks that embrace knowledge sharing, good economic thinking, and experimentation to identify and enhance.
· You will work closely with cross-functional partners to understand and connect to their most important opportunities then develop forward looking commodity strategies and business processes to build and sustain competitive advantage.
· You will Bid and Negotiate Capex Services and Equipment contracts for Mechanical, Civil, Electrical work and equipment.
· You will assist Engineering teams in defining project scope for Capex Projects in preparation of detailed RFQ’s.
· You will research and identify capable suppliers and contractors for future bidding opportunities.
· You will manage suppliers in all aspects, including relationship development, supplier performance, supplier opportunities.
· You will provide operational support, including data analysis, metrics and reporting, market intelligence gathering, and project tracking.
· You will apply appropriate contract terms and pricing structures to new and existing supply arrangements.
· You will ensure compliance with Company, environmental, legal, and other such requirements.
Experience, Skills, Education
· Understand Company business relationships and how this role impacts others.
· Experience in capital buying projects within a manufacturing environment; RFP/RFQ, supplier selection, project execution, cost and timing management and project close activities.
· General understanding of the financial aspects of capital expenditures, ROCC, ROI, NPV, cash flow, total cost of ownership, etc.
· General understanding of process engineering, the design and build of equipment and
· Experience in strategic sourcing analysis and strategy implementation.
· Proven analytical and negotiation skills.
· Effective time management, organization, and task prioritization skills.
· Experience with MS Office application and other work-related software, specifically SAP.
· Experience in establishing and leading successful cross-functional relationships.
· Ability to travel up to 25% depending on project and business requirements.
· 5+ years of experience in Strategic Sourcing, Procurement, Supply Management or Supply Chain required.
· Experience in creation, negotiation, and administration of contracts.
· Experience of leading cross-functional teams to deliver superior results.
· Experience developing strategies or innovative ideas and then presenting them to executive leadership for approval.
· Experience in civil, or controls & power, or similar background.
· BS/BA degree in related field required OR equivalent experience (e.g., Operations, Supply Chain, Finance, Engineering).
