Seeking a QC Technician/Technical Compliance Specialist for a Contract – to – hire opportunity located in Evanston, IL with the potential to become permanent. Our Client is a manufacturer of oil-free metal forming and tube-bending lubricants that recently celebrated its 100-year anniversary in 2014. The QC Technician/Technical Compliance Specialist will provide support for the Technical Group and Sales Team by assisting with product development projects and field support projects and maintaining regulatory and certification programs.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Analysis of samples submitted by the laboratory and sales team by use of a variety of techniques and analytical instrumentation for field requests
- The preparation of written reports upon completion of all analyses and delivery of the results to the appropriate personnel
- Evaluation of new, updated, and competitor products / raw material offsets and preparing reports on the evaluation results
- Customer technical inquires
- Aid in the development of analytical procedures for field personnel (new products or updating old procedures). Coordinate internal/external testing
- Maintain well-documented records of all experiments and tests in a laboratory notebook
- Perform work duties in a safe manner, ensuring the safety to self and co-workers
- Assist in the completion of regulatory forms and reports, as well as the assignment of proper regulatory classifications (EPA, HAZMAT, DOT, REACH, GHS, etc.)
- Assist with compliance with the OSHA Hazard Communication Standard and preparation of related documents
- Assist in maintaining the Quality Assurance Program by working with Laboratory Management and Quality control
- The preparation of product samples for verification of QC specifications, process testing, or verification projects
- Small batch production as needed
- Reading and understanding educational material (i.e., relevant research papers, technical journals, and trade magazines)
- Coordinate off-site manufacturing teaching, data integrity, and formula updates and audits
- SDS construction and updates; internal safety training of IRMCO associates
- Perform other related duties as required and assigned
Position Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Chemistry or related technical program or Associates degree plus at least 5 years of experience in the chemical sales/service/support Industry
- Interpretative skills of Analytical Results are a must
- 1 to 2 years of leadership or training experience
- 1 to 2 years of direct customer service experience
- Able to lift 50 lbs
